Mike Rose
Director of Brands Packaging
Edrington

Mike has worked in the Scotch whisky industry for his entire career, and so long as the industry continues to innovate, develop and grow, he has never seen the need to move outside. It is also one of the few industries whose manufacturing base (largely) cannot be exported to foreign countries. With a strong background in quality and in production he has gained an intimate understanding of packaging design, manufacturing, and performance criteria. Inevitably he has gravitated towards Packaging Development, and now leads a team that has responsibility for packaging development, change management, value engineering and pack performance throughout the supply chain.

As Scotch whisky has moved into new areas of the global market, the role of premium packaging has grown to become a critical element of the portfolio, and luxurious and extravagant product design has created new and exciting challenges.
